Cesar Antonio Benavides Jurado nació el 18 de junio de 1952 en Quito, Ecuador. Vivió su infancia en Ambato junto a sus cinco hermanos, cuatro hermanas, y su madre.
En su niñez, Cesar demostró su interés a la música y con mucho entusiasmo participó en programas de su escuela y televisión en Ambato. Al llegar a la juventud, Cesar combinó sus estudios, su trabajo y su canto. Participó en varios concursos, programas, y en su primer festival de música nacional en Santo Domingo de los Colorados en Ecuador. Sus premios, trofeos y aplausos fueron su incentivo que lo motivaron y lo inclinaron a brindar este entretenimiento con disciplina y responsabilidad.
En 1973, Cesar viajó a Toronto con sueños e ilusiones para reunirse con una de sus hermanas. Todo era nuevo y desconocido, pero con mucha fe, esfuerzo, y trabajo continuaba su adaptación a esta nueva vida. En 1975, Cesar conoció a su querida esposa Gloria y en enero de 1976 se casaron. Poco tiempo después la vida les llenó de bendiciones con los nacimientos de sus dos hijas Lindsay y Janice. Además de su familia, su amor hacia el canto seguía en él.
El sentimiento incomparable de la voz de Cesar, una de las más románticas del Ecuador, le llevó a ser ganador de innumerables festivales en Ecuador, Canadá y en Estados Unidos. Sirvió a su comunidad hispana participando en diferentes eventos, incluyendo al Anual Hispanic Festival de la ciudad de Toronto. A través de sus canciones, llevó el mensaje de ecuatorianidad a las más grandes ciudades de Norteamérica.
Cesar fue conocido como la máxima expresión de la música del inmortal Julio Jaramillo, también fue compositor, intérprete, y grabó varios discos en vinilo y discos compactos. Tuvo el gusto de compartir escenarios con varios artistas locales e internacionales como: Segundo Rosero, Aladino, Kike Vega, Gustavo Velásquez, Lucho Barrios, Chugo Tobar, Roberto Zumba y muchos más.
Con el pasar del tiempo, llegaron los nietos a la vida de Cesar, los cuales eran su felicidad. El mundo de él giraba alrededor de sus amados niños, sus hijas, su esposa, y su mamá. Afortunadamente, tuvo la dicha de disfrutar del amor de su madre hasta el fallecimiento de ella en el 2019.
Hoy lamentamos la partida de nuestro querido esposo, padre, abuelo, tío, y hermano Cesar. Nos queda el consuelo de haber compartido junto a él, momentos inolvidables que vivirán por siempre en nuestros corazones.

Cesar Antonio Benavides Jurado was born on June 18, 1952 in Quito, Ecuador. He lived his childhood in Ambato with his five brothers, four sisters, and his mother.
During his childhood, Cesar showed interest in music and enthusiastically participated in programs at school and television in Ambato. When he reached his youth, Cesar was able to combine his studies with work and singing. He participated in various competitions, programs, and in his first national music festival in Santo Domingo de los Colorados in Ecuador. His awards, trophies and applause were the incentive that motivated him and gave him the drive to showcase his talent through entertainment, with discipline and responsibility.
In 1973, Cesar traveled to Toronto with dreams and hopes of joining one of his sisters. Everything was new and unknown, but with a lot of faith, effort, and hard work he adapted to his new life. In 1975, Cesar met his cherished wife Gloria and in January 1976 they were married. Soon after, life filled them both with blessings with the births of their two daughters Lindsay and Janice. In addition to the love of his family, his love for singing continued.
The incomparable emotion in Cesar’s voice, one of Ecuador’s most romantic, led him to win countless festivals in Ecuador, Canada and the United States. He served his Latino community by participating in different events, including the annual Hispanic Fiesta in the city of Toronto. Through his songs, he brought the message of the Ecuadorian community to the largest cities in North America.
Cesar was known for his exceptional interpretations of the music of the immortal Julio Jaramillo, but he was also a composer and performer, recording several vinyl records and compact discs. He had the pleasure of sharing different stages with various local and international artists such as: Segundo Rosero, Aladino, Kike Vega, Gustavo Velásquez, Lucho Barrios, Chugo Tobar, Roberto Zumba and many more.
With the passing of time, grandchildren came into Cesar’s life and they became his major happiness. His world revolved around his beloved grandkids, his daughters, his wife, and his mother. Fortunately, he was blessed to have enjoyed his mother’s love until her passing in 2019.
Today we mourn the departure of our adored husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and brother Cesar. We are left with the consolation of having shared with him unforgettable moments that will live in our hearts forever.
